The roots of a passion taken root in the history of an ancient latifundia

On a charming plateau sheltered by hills and not far from the sea lie the fertile lands of "Tenute Cuffaro". Hectares of vineyards whose roots take root in the history of an ancient estates and of a family that for generations cares: we talk about the "Feudo di Fauma" and Cuffaro family. Sicily until the second half of the nineteenth century was divided into large estates. Vast swathes of land in need of reliable and capable men to govern the herds, guarding the crops, especially vineyards. At that time, the Baron Agnello Pasciuta, owner of the "Feudo di Fauma", chose Filippo Cuffaro because of his outstanding personal qualities as "curatolo" (overseer) of his estate.

A renewed confidence to his son Rosario and which lasted until the breakdown of the feud with land reform. Starting in 1960, the grandson of the "curatolo", also named Filippo Cuffaro, began to purchase those same lands where he was born and grew up with his family. This is how, over the years, the "Tenute Cuffaro": 12 hectares of vineyards from a family with the same passion of yesterday, today looks to the future. In fact, Philip's grandfather, and now with his son Rosario and his granddaughter Anna, decided to vinify by self from 2016.
